This wonderful couple had a intimate wedding on their farm. The bride and groom wanted a low key wedding, making everything themselves. When I say everything I mean EVERYTHING!. From the food, the cake, the bouquet, signs, decor, bar, the rustic wooden benches and tables, even the dance floor! They had worked very hard putting every single little detail together. This was the most DIY wedding we had ever documented and they gave us much to work with!
Now let us back up a little bit and reintroduce Justin and Jaylynn. Their engagement session can be viewed on chapter titled “First Date Memories”. We had told you a little bit about their story then, but now we can let you in on much more of their romantic love story.
They had 2 wedding proposals. The first on happened 7 yeas ago, on the anniversary of their first date. These two were broke, living in a small apartment in Mount Forest and working dead-end jobs. Time’s were tough and they didn’t have much, but they had each other. You can imagine something along the lines of Living on a Prayer. Justin one day surprised Jaylynn with the most adorable ring and said that until he could afford one that she deserved, this would be it’s placeholder. Cue the tears! He couldn’t afford an expensive ring but wanted her to know that she was his one and only!
The second proposal happened later, a few years back, shortly after their financial situation improved. They worked hard and were able to buy a farm. Life was good. One day Justin asked Jaylynn to help him with one of his engines in the garage. As they worked, he asked her to grab a tool out of the toolbox. When she opened the metal drawer, she found inside a beautiful little box wrapped in velvet. When she turned to look at him, he was kneeling down on oneknee. He had a piece of paper in his hand and tried to read from it a poem but was very emotional, as she was as well realizing what was happening. She of course said yes for the second time. They spent the next weekend away to celebrate and then told their families the wonderful news.
When we asked Jaylynn how excited she was for her wedding, her response was:
“OMG! lol it’s still so surreal. It’s actually happening! 😛 We’ve been waiting for so long to celebrate our live together with our new family!
